Lynda's obituary
Mrs. Lynda J Cierlak, age 73, passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 18, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas, after a long fought battle against ovarian cancer. She was born December 29, 1951 in Holland, Michigan to Stanley and Florence (King) McClure.
On May 22, 1971 she married David Cierlak in Muskegon. In 1974, Lynda and Dave started their family with the birth of their son, Nathan. Then in 1988, with the birth of their daughter Katherine (Katey). Lynda attended Muskegon Business College and used those learnings helping with the family business, Sherlock Homes Construction. Later, she became a custodian at some of the local Catholic churches including Sacred Heart, St. Michael’s, and St. Mary’s before retiring in 2020.
Lynda enjoyed cooking, especially during the holidays, making traditional Polish dishes, and desserts. Lynda loved the outdoors. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. This is what she and David spent most of their time doing together. She was a devoted dog mom and enjoyed her plants. After retirement, Lynda and Dave would spend their summers in Michigan enjoying the outdoors and catching up with family and friends. They would then spend the winters down in San Antonio, Texas where they enjoyed the sun and hanging out with Katey.
Lynda is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, David; her children, son Nathan (Julie) Cierlak of Muskegon; daughter Katherine Cierlak of San Antonio; grandchildren Katherine (Brian) Jett and Brendan Cierlak; great-grandchildren Camden, Aria, and Alivia Jett. She is also survived by her siblings William (Debbie) McClure, Kathy (Earl) Standish, Robert (Therese) McClure, Jon McClure, many nieces and nephews, and her life long best friend and sister-in-law Judi Henry. She was preceded in death by her parents Florence and Stanley McClure and her brother Dan McClure. Funeral will be held 11AM on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Matt Barnum presiding. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior. Luncheon to follow.
