falleció en paz en Allentown, Pennsylvania, el 20 de Marzo del 2021 a los setenta y cuatro anos de edad.
Murió despues de su querido hijo, Armando Dennis Vélez, y su nieta, Justine Gist. Le sobreviven sus hijas Maribel Tallman (yerno Robert), Cynthia Coplen, Flor Maria Fields (yerno Jeffrey), Mildred, y su ex cónyuge Armando Vélez Zapata, sus 10 nietos y 6 bisnietos. La mayor lección que les enseñó a sus hijos fue la de tener fuerza y fe en Dios y en ellos mismos.
Ella era una ávida cocinera que disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos. Cuando no estába en su cocina, se podia encontrar en oración y devoción en la iglesia.

Lydia Esther Perez was born November 20th, 1946 in Puerto Rico. On March 20th, 2021
she passed away peacefully in Allentown, PA, and went home to be with the good Lord at age 74.
She was predeceased by her son, Armando Dennis Velez, and grand-daughter, Justine Gist. She is survived by her daughters Maribel Tallman (son in law Robert), Cynthia Coplen, Flor Maria Fields (son in law Jeffrey), Mildred, as well as ex-spouse Armando Velez Zapata, her 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-children. Her greatest achievement was instilling faith and strength in her children.
She was an avid cook who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. When not in her kitchen, she could be found in prayer and devotion at church.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Lydia's name to St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church at 1825 W Turner St, Allentown, PA 18104.
