Lydia Erhardt, 83, of Sacramento, CA, passed away peacefully in her home of 52 years on April 04, 2025. 

Lydia was born on September 10, 1941 to Plegunte and Esther Balan in Pangasinan, Philippines.  After graduating from high school she went on to study Science of Elementary Education at Dagupan College.   Lydia worked as an educator until she  met her one true love, John C. Erhardt.  They were pen pals for several years prior to their marriage in 1972.   Lydia and John have 5 children: Philip, Carlo, Elizabeth, Jane, and Shirley.  On their recent 52nd anniversary, Lydia and John celebrated the blessings of their 17 grandchildren: Christopher, Samantha, Junior, Jahna, CJ, Stephan, Jeanne, Carlson, Charlie, LeSauncey, LaTiana, Lydia, Avery, Dera, Rasta, Chaz, and Sloan.  More blessings continued with 9 great grandchildren: Micah, Ayla, Benjamin, Isaiah, Oliver, Barrette, Cash, Omari, and Latroy.

Lydia adored her family and decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother as well as a devout Protestant.  She sponsored families all over the world to include the Philippines and Cambodia and she excelled at supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives.  Lydia made it her mission to improve the lives of others.  She was a passionate gardener, cook, and singer.  When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her garden or singing in her fellowship circle of friends.  She loved music, sang in her church, and enjoy karaoke with Christian & Country songs.  No words can express the heartache we feel and we will miss her greatly. Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in knowing Lydia is now at peace in heaven.  Lydia’s kindness, love, and unwavering spirit will forever live in the memories of those who knew her.  She touched the lives of so many and left a legacy of love and warmth that will remain on our hearts forever.
