It is with great love and sorrow that the family of Luz Delia Diaz announces her passing on September 26, 2025, at the age of 104. Born on June 4, 1921, in the Dominican Republic, Luz built her life with courage, faith, and dedication to her family.

In the late 1950s, she moved to New York City to create a better life for her children. She went on to become the proud mother of 11 children, grandmother of 16, and great-grandmother of 42. Her legacy of love, resilience, and tradition will continue through each of them.

Luz was known for her deep faith in the Catholic community and for sharing joy through her love of cooking, singing, dancing, and always winning at dominoes. She also held the honor of being the oldest living elder in Diaz family history.

A public candlelight service will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 PM, at the corner of Irwin Avenue and 225th Street, Bronx, NY. All are welcome to join in honoring her life.

A private funeral service will follow on Friday, October 3, 2025, reserved for close family. The family thanks you for your understanding and privacy during this time of grief
