Luretha's obituary
Luretha Bobb (affectionately known as “Bit” and “LuBobb” by those close to her) departed this earth at the age of 57 in the loving presence of family and friends on Monday, March 7th, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.
Luretha was born in Holly Springs, MS on August 21st, 1964 to parents Lurline (Wells) Bishop and David Norman. As a child, Ms. Luretha moved to Fort Wayne, IN with her family. She attended South Side High School (Class of '82) and ultimately graduated from Indiana Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice in 2013.
In 1985, Luretha enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan for three years. After her time in the military, Luretha returned home to Fort Wayne and was employed, most notably at Dana Incorporated, ITT Incorporated, at the time of her passing, Teleperformance, Incorporated. She was also a long-time member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Luretha was a devoted member of her church home, Cathedral of Praise Ministries International, and developed a strong relationship with the Lord. In her spare free time, Ms. Luretha enjoyed Bible Study, playing cards with friends, collecting Black angels and figurines, traveling, and watching old television shows. Ms. Luretha was known by all for her huge heart, immaculate cooking skills, her meticulous note-taking, her delightful humor, and, most importantly, her love for her son, André Bobb, 32.
Luretha was preceded in death by her mother, Lurline (Wells) Bishop; father, David Norman; grandparents, Raymond Wells and Emma Wells; aunt, Sadie Mae (Wells) Jones; and cousin, Crystal Wells.
Luretha is survived by her son, André; her brothers Phillip Wells, Randy Norman, Larry Tyrone Norman, and Tracey Shipp; cousins Terrence Wells and Diane Wells; her sister and brother in Christ, Debbie and LaRay Williams, and a long list of extended family and close friends, including Jocelyn Collins, Denise Spearman, Cynthia Christian, Cathy (Kelsaw) Ervins, and Barbara Bassett. While Luretha’s presence will undoubtedly be missed, her family and friends take comfort in knowing her spirit is at peace and resting with the Lord for eternity.
