Luis A. (Teko) Gilbert, 58, crossed the rainbow bridge, holding hands with his wife Luciene and his daughter Priscila after a valiant battle with liver disease, on July 13, 2020. It is believed it was caused from too many Happy Hours, as well as his many enjoyable trips to the liquor store that made his liver to give out.
He left behind a hell of a lot of stuff in the garage to his wife and daughter who have no idea what to do with it. About 1,000 tools that we aren't sure what they're used for, about 50+extention cords, many bottles of car cleaning, motor/ break oils and more; in addition to an old Jeep Cherokee that he was working on its starting problem for the last year. however, he was almost giving up on it, as it would just start whenever it wanted. "It had a mind of its own" He said.
Teko, was like Gyro-Gearloose - from Walt Disney Company. He was very handy and creative in every aspect. He's first passion had always been fixing cars and motorcycles, however he could fix anything, even if it meant to do a "Mickey Mouse" to make it work.
He was extremely intelligent and self-learn and loved to be challenged.
He's other passions were to preparer breakfast in bed every day for me (his wife, Lu), which I will miss forever, he's daughter and grandchildren Eileen and Diego, and our "by heart grandniece" Hannah. He loved kids, animals, nature and watch the sunset.
Teko had a very loving, fun, funny, loud spoken, friendly and a good heart. He was world-renowned for his big mouth, sometimes inconvenient jokes, and his love for taking pictures without editing before posting on Facebook, always got himself in trouble, especially among the ladies; and he always got a kick out of it.
Teko was like The Little Prince from Antoine de Saint Exupery. He was an adult that always made sure to remember the child within himself.
Luis A. (Teko) Gilbert, was born on December 29, 1961 to Oscar Gilbert and Maria L. Hoffman in Curitiba, Brazil.
He graduated from Federal University of Parana in 1987, with a major in Physical Education.

He moved to Los Angeles in December of 1989 and worked as a self- employed professional photographer for weddings and party events, and he also had his used cars small business.

In January 2001, he met Luciene Peck, and they wed on March 01, 2002.

Luis A. (Teko) Gilbert was predeceased by his father Oscar Gilbert, brother Edson Ricardo Gilbert and sister Ivone Margot Gilbert. He is survived by wife Luciene Peck, daughter Priscila Gilbert, Grandchildren Eileen C. Scorpio and Diego E. Romero, sisters Ane Margarete G. Machado, Luzimari G. Olenike, Marisalete Gilbert and brother Tercio Oscar Gilbert.

Suas outras paixões em preparar o café da manhã na cama todos os dias para mim (sua esposa, Lu), da qual sentirei saudades para sempre, sua filha e netos Eileen e Diego e nossa "neta emprestada” Hannah. Ele amava crianças, animais, natureza e assistia ao pôr do sol.
Teko tinha um coração muito grande, divertido, engraçado, falava alto, amigável e de bom coração. Ele era mundialmente conhecido por sua boca grande, às vezes piadas inconvenientes e seu amor por tirar fotos sem editar antes de publicar no Facebook, sempre se metia em problemas, principalmente entre as mulheres; e ele sempre se divertia com isso.
Teko era como O Pequeno Príncipe de Antoine de Saint Exupery. Ele era um adulto que sempre se lembrava da criança que havia dentro dele.
Luis A. (Teko) Gilbert, nasceu em 29 de dezembro de 1961, filho de Oscar Gilbert e Maria L. Hoffman em Curitiba, Brasil.
Ele se formou na Universidade Federal do Paraná em 1987, com especialização em Educação Física.

Ele se mudou para Los Angeles em dezembro de 1989 e trabalhou como fotógrafo profissional independente para casamentos e eventos de festas, além de ter uma pequena empresa para carros usados.

Em janeiro de 2001, ele conheceu Luciene Peck, e eles se casaram em 01 de março de 2002.

Luis A. (Teko) Gilbert foi predecedido por seu pai Oscar Gilbert, irmão Edson Ricardo Gilbert e irmã Ivone Margot Gilbert. Ele deixa a esposa Luciene Peck, a filha Priscila Gilbert, os netos Eileen C. Scopio e Diego E. Romero, as irmãs Ane Margarete G. Machado, Luzimari G. Olenike, Marisalete Gilbert e o irmão Tercio Oscar Gilbert.
