Luis's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Luis "Junior" Alvarez, a gentle and generous soul, who left us on October 27, 2023. Born on September 18, 1951, Luis, commonly known as Junior, by those who knew him intimately, made an indelible impact on the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a man of great kind-heartedness and unselfishness that permeated throughout his interactions with others. Luis proudly served his country during the Viet Nam War as a Marine during 1970 through 1972.
Though Luis requested most that he be remembered by his birth name, his charming personality and ever-present kindness earned him the affectionate nickname, Junior. He was truly a beacon of light and warmth in the lives of many, and his absence is felt deeply.
Luis is survived by his devoted sister, Edna Geddes, his life partner Mary Zeno and his loving nephew, William R. Geddes. He has 2 great-nieces, Victoria and Oliviana and 1 great-nephew, William. His memory will continue to live on in their hearts and within the stories they share. He was predeceased by his father, Guillermo Alvarez and his great-nephew and Godson Kevin B. Geddes.
Luis, or Junior as he was fondly known, will forever be remembered as a man who held an immense capacity for love and generosity. His spirit touched everyone he encountered, and he will be greatly missed by all, especially those who were lucky enough to be a part of his life.
As we mourn the loss of this remarkable man, we also celebrate the rich, fulfilling life he led and the indelible legacy he leaves behind. His kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those who knew him in their journey forward without him. Rest in peace.
