LUCY MARY STARKS-SANDERS, of Fort Wayne, departed this life on Sunday, June 6, 2022. She was born in Uniontown, Ala. Surviving are her fiance, Chester "Chet" Johnson; son, John (Jean) Sanders III; daughter, Roxanne (Willie) Lewis; brothers, Rev. Ernest (Mary) Starks, Buster (Doris) Starks, David (Collette) Starks, and Eddie (Mary) Starks; sisters, Odessa (Joe) Stewart, Sandra (William) Carswell, Ethel (Roosevelt) Martin, and Lucinda Williams; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Sanders Jr.; parents, Samuel and Lucinda Starks; and brother, Larry Starks. Funeral service is 11 a.m. on June 25th at Greater Mount Ararat, with visitation one hour prior. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements by Carmichael Funeral Service.
