Lucy's obituary

It is with a bittersweet heart, that I inform all who loved and knew my beloved mother Lucy Soto peacefully passed away Monday, June 4, 2018.
Born in the mountains of her beloved Puerto Rico, Lucy later moved to New York City where she lived and worked for many years before settling in South Florida. She adored living close to the beach where the warm breeze and ocean water soothed her soul and made her so happy.
Words can scarcely convey the amazing woman, mother, grandmother and aunt she was/is.
I can confidently say, that my precious mother was the embodiment of LOVE. Her love and infinite compassion for absolutely everyone was without condition or judgement whatsoever. She was the kindest soul. She was love and compassion in action.
Her LOVE and devotion to her family was/is unparalleled. She was the strongest woman I've ever known. A woman of indescribable faith, fierce and tender love, a love of life that there are simply no words for. The conviction in her heart for her family, her faith was/is...the stuff that MOVES MOUNTAINS, rooted in her pure and moral heart.
Her home was always open to anyone when they needed to rest their weary head and be nourished by her love and AMAZING food! Lord have mercy, my Momma could cook. Nothing in this life filled her heart more than to have have the family gathered at the table. Everything and everyone was sacred. Every moment of her life was/is TRULY SACRED.
I'm blessed....so incredibly blessed to have been raised in a home filled with such love. Even in our typical mother/daughter spats (we're fiery souls)...the love and authenticity of our bond was ever present.
She was/is the most amazing grandmother to my children. No daycare ever required. She helped me raise my children and was always with us wherever we went. The memories and downright FUN we had...words could never describe the blessing she was to us.
She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. The fondness and love she had/has for them...beyond epic.
She taught us how to be mothers and fostered unconditional, affectionate love that imprinted our hearts and soul through her example.
Her laugh and smile were infectious. She had multiple kisses and hugs for everyone always, no exceptions EVER. When she was present, wherever she was, love, grace and elegance permeated the room. You couldn't help but feel so special and adored.
To those who's lives were touched by her grace....please carry that love in your hearts. You know she wouldn't want tears.
I have a simple request. Let us all honor my beloved mother by ensuring her legacy of compassion and love with no conditions are carried forward with every breath we take. When in question...ask yourselves..."What would Lucy do?"...and you'll know....she'll be right there with the answer in your heart. We have a mighty angel in our midst. She would want us all to know that....and I KNOW she sends her love to everyone...and would say....."mi amor, comer algo y descanse"...."my love, eat something and rest" LOL.

Lucy leaves behind, her three children Anthony (Tony), Israel and Barbara.
Four grandchildren, Elissa, Michael, Edward & Carrie.
Three great granddaughters, Syira, Jaritiza & Nadia.
Three great, great grandchildren.
Many beloved nieces & nephews.
Many beloved friends that were her family too.

I love you Mami!!
