Lucy Maestas, a proud and spirited woman, passed away peacefully after a long battle with dementia. Born in Mexico, her life’s path took her first to Texas, where she built a strong foundation for her family, and later to Raton, New Mexico, where she spent her later years surrounded by those she loved.

Lucy was preceded in death by her beloved son, Manuel whom passed just months ago; her cherished grandson, Joe; and her dear parents, Geronimo and Mantecka. She is survived by many grandchildren: Shula, Tracy, Alla, Jeff, Danny, Marissa, Eaki, Sandy, Teribio, Danielle, Matt, Marty, Charlie, Sandra, Shan, Jenny, Rebecca, Darla, Barb, Lorreto, Cathy, Nick; who will forever remember her strength, wit, and the love she poured into each of them.

Known for always speaking her mind and living life on her own terms, Lucy leaves behind a legacy of resilience, laughter, and unwavering family pride.
