It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Lucy Ann Hunter, a remarkable woman, who departed this life on November 15, 2023. Lucy was born on December 3, 1943, and throughout her 79 years, she imbued those around her with her sparkling wit and unwavering strength.
Lucy led an impactful life, paving her own path with her unique blend of humor and intellect. Her personality exemplified wisdom and humor, her wit coming to light in all aspects of her existence, making her an endless source of joy and inspiration. She will always be remembered for her distinctive wit that brought laughter and joy to everyone she encountered.
Lucy Ann leaves to cherish her memory six children: Brian (and Malissa) Hunter, Tanya Green, Jeffrey (and Tiffany) Hunter, Patricia Hunter, Michelle Hunter and Heather Hunter. Lucy had 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren who will undoubtedly carry on her legacy of love, laughter, and being their unique selves.
Lucy Ann is survived by 2 beloved sisters, Helen Austin and Sandra Rountree, a sister in-law, Geraldine Rountree along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, countless close friends, and loved ones. She was predeceased by her husband, John E. Hunter; loving parents, William and Lucille Rountree; brothers, William "Pete" Calvin Rountree, William Herschel Rountree, and Joseph "Tootsie" Rountree; brother in-law Richard Austin; sisters in-law, Grace Juanita Rountree, and Edith "Baby Joe" Rountree and son in-law, Collin A. Gaynia.Lucy's vivacity and determination were truly empowering and will continue to serve as a beacon of light to her family, friends & countless loved ones.
We invite all those who were touched by Lucy's beautiful spirit to join us in a Celebration of Life on December 3, 2023, 2:00 PM at the Emma Darnell Aviation Museum & Conference Center. Each guest will have the opportunity to celebrate Lucy's life, share beloved memories, and cherish the legacy of love she leaves behind.
Lucy Hunter's vibrant spirit and infectious wit will remain eternally in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. Today, we mourn her loss, but we also celebrate a life beautifully lived.
