My sincere condolences to Lucilles family. I just heard of her passing. Lucille was my sister, Portia Burns closest friend. Any event that was planned always included Lucille. She was kind, generous and caring. May her memory be a blessing.

Lucille with Lori and Elizabeth from Sound Beach at the Winery
Lucille is my first cousin, and back in 2007, she really went out of her way to help me out. While returning home from my brother’s 50th birthday party in LA, we stopped in Las Vegas for one night. Unfortunately, my husband broke his hip and had to have surgery. He and I were there for a week, and my mom went home after a few days. Prior to our trip, I had been taking her to various doctors for tests to determine the cause of her persistent cough. Apparently, it had gotten much worse and she was having trouble breathing. She waited until the day my husband had to start physical therapy to let me know. She doesn’t drive and I can’t be in two places at once. I called Lucille and asked if she could drive in from Sound Beach and take my mom to the doctor. Not only did she do that, but she persuaded my mom to take the doctor’s advice and go into the hospital to get the tests done. My mom hated the thought of going into hospital and wanted me to take her for various tests. Lucille reminded her that I couldn’t do that because I had to be there for my husband and his PT. I was so grateful to her for this. She was always very good and helpful to my mother and my Aunt Phyllis, neither of whom drove.
Just some happy memories of Lucille to share with you !
