Lucas's obituary
Lucas was born on September 18, 1980 in Arlington Heights, IL to Wayne and Mary Jane Hills. He graduated from Hoffman Estates High School, and built his years in Chicago leading Strategic Accounts for Custom Companies Inc. in Chicago. On December 14, 2015, Lucas’s pride and joy December Gail was born. Lucas and December shared a rare bond, and felt blessed to have each other. She will always be the true love of his life. December was raised with love by Lucas and his parenting partner, Natalie Stubbs, in the suburbs of Chicago.
Lucas (DJ Atari) had a passion for music, motorcycles, cars, gardening, cooking, telling really awful “dad jokes”, and most of all just being a great “da-da” (as December called him). Fatherhood truly brought out the best in him. He often combined his favorite hobbies by turning weekend motorcycle rides with his father into Harley Davidson token treasure hunts for his daughter. His spirit and inclusive nature made everyone he knew feel loved and appreciated. He was an avid golfer and a collector of music. Behind the canvas of tattoos was a man known for his heart felt hugs, big smile, and a kind and compassionate spirit. When he entered a room, he was sure to leave it with laughter. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Lucas during his 40 years, among them: Never throw away bacon grease. Use it to make French fries!
