My heart is with the family, Natty and December. He was like my brother.
Although I haven't seen Luke since shortly after we graduated high school, I remember him being one of the guys who was always nice to everyone, including me, during a time when people weren't so nice to me. I never forgot his face. His smile, anytime I saw it in friends' FB photos, reminded me of how he used to make me smile, too. It looks like he touched a lot of people in the same great way, and that he did some awesome things with his life, especially being a dad to that beautiful little girl. I'm so very sorry for the pain and the loss you are all grieving. I feel privileged to have known Luke for the short time that I did, and may God and time bless, keep, and heal all of you now, and as the years pass. Hugs and love to all of you!

Natalie I am so sorry for your loss. I have you in my thoughts and prayers and please reach out for anything.
Lucas was the best mentor and friend a man can have. No matter how bad of a day I was having he would make it his mission to force me to smile or laugh at least a few times before the day had ended, and he wouldn't relent until he accomplished his mission. Work and life won't be the same without him. He will be sorely missed and my sincerest condolences go out to December, Natalie, and the rest of his family.

Lucas was a great guy all around. In the early 2000s, he got me out of some serious trouble more than once. He also rocked parties at my old Chicago place quite a few times and invited me to events he was running or attending.

Although we hadn't seen each other for a long time, he was always considered a friend. He was always welcoming and fun to be around.

My deepest condolences go out to Lucas' family and our old friends. He will be missed.
