Louis's obituary

Louis C. McCormick, 82, of Hartford IA, passed away on 7.18.2020 from Parkinsons.

Lou was predeceased by his Father Albert, Mother Eva, siblings Jack, John, Milford, Harry and Sena Gentry and grandson Robert McCormick.

He is survived by the love of his life Mona McCormick, daughters Sunshine Collins and Sabrina McCormick of this marriage. Sons John and Louis McCormick, daughters Jacquie McCormick and Judy Marts from his previous marriage. Siblings Milton McCormick, Alma Kelly and Eve Higgins. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Louis, or "Poppy," joined the US Navy when be became of age. After his honorable discharge, he continued to work hard and play harder. He ran successful nightclubs over the years, including HiBaby Lounge, Nashville Club, Toad Holler, and Super Toad. He retired with his last adventure of MonaLou's Tradingpost in Hartford IA. The business is still open and now operated by his surviving spouse and immediate family.

Lou led a life that was his very own and always did things "his way." He was a husband, a father, a brother, a grandpa, a friend, a business owner, a musician, and so much more. His kindness and strength will be honored in our hearts forever.
