Louis Gary Mauro

Passed peacefully away Friday, August 8, 2025 at the age of 81 while visiting Cooperstown, New York. Louis was born on July 25, 1944 in Chicago, IL. to father Louis, mother Carmella, and brother John and in 1962, graduated from Foreman High School.

Louis was a proud patriot and a US Army veteran who served with honor in South Korea from 1966 to 1967. Whan Louis completed his military service, he began work as a pipe-fitter for People’s Gas and ended his career with People’s Energy where he retired in 2002.

Louis was a devoted member of Saint Elizabeth Seton in Orland Hills, IL and for over 30 years, coached youth football at Portage Park in Chicago and the Orland Hills youth program

Louis enjoyed spending time his grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching them play the sports he loved.

Louis is survived by his wife Marilyn; his sons Joseph (wife Caryn), Nicholas, and Philip; his step-daughter Carolyn (husband Dan) and his 12 great grandchildren and grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 30th, 2025 at Saint Elizabeth Seton in Orland Hills at 11:30am.
