Louis's obituary

In His infinite love, grace, and divine wisdom, God has called one of His faithful servants from labor to reward. On Sunday, April 19, 2026, the Death Angel visited and gently escorted Louis Lester Gant Jr from this earthly life into his eternal home. At the age of 50, he exchanged time for eternity and now rests in the presence of the Lord—a soldier who has fought a good fight and finished his course.

Louis was born on July 20, 1975, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the proud parents of Louis Lester Gant Sr and Carolyn S Gant. From the very beginning, his life was a testament to love, resilience, and a joyful spirit that would bless all who encountered him.

He is a proud member of the Sarah T Reed High School, Class of 1995. On December 20, 2001, Louis united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Kisha Gant. Their union was blessed with four beautiful children—two sons and two daughters: Kai, Bryce, Sian, and Skye—who were his pride, joy, and greatest accomplishment.

Answering the call to serve, Louis enlisted in the United States Navy in 2001, serving his country with honor and dedication until 2004. Whether in uniform or at home, he carried himself with strength, loyalty, and purpose.

Louis had a vibrant personality and a heart full of love. He cherished time with family and friends and was known for his playful nature and gift for creating unforgettable nicknames like “Biscuit,” “Christmas,” “Spot,” and many others—each one a reflection of the joy he brought into people’s lives.

Today, we do not say goodbye, but celebrate a life well lived and a soul well loved. Louis leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy: his children, Kai O’Neal (Victoria), Bryce Gant, Sian Gant, and Skye Gant; his devoted wife, Kisha Gant; his brother, Rashad Gant (Natasha); his loving parents, Carolyn S Gant (Gerard) and Louis L Gant Sr; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and dear friends.

Though his earthly journey has ended, we rejoice in knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. His work here is done, his crown has been earned, and his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

“Well done, thy good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of the Lord.”
