Lou James Rankin, age 70, passed away surrounded with love from his family, on December 23, 2025 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a devoted husband to Deborah Rankin, whom he married in 1979. Cherished father of Cassandra Rankin, Lou Rankin Jr, and Jonathan Rankin, and beloved Pap Pap of his only grandchild, Izabelle Townsend. Lou Sr. also leaves behind dogs Butch and Stitch, whom he loved so very much! He will also be remembered by his many friends, colleagues, and family.

He was the son of Jack and Shirley Rankin, who preceded him in death, and brother of Jackie Iaconni and Shari O'Brien. He grew up in Elrama and Finleyville, graduating from Ringgold Highschool in 1973. He had the nickname "Grandpa" during his highschool years for his likeness to the character from the Munsters.

He has been a dedicated employee of Kurt J Lesker Company since 1981.  He will be greatly missed by his coworkers for not only his expert knowledge of their vacuum pumps, equipment, and guidance, but for his genuine kindness and the many friendships  he has built over the almost 45 years there. 

Lou has made an incredible impact on everyone he has met throughout the years and will be remembered by many for years to come. Memorial information and a celebration of his life luncheon will be announced at a later date in the near future.
