Lorrilla's obituary

Lorrilla Mabus Walthall, 62, of West Jordan, UT, passed away at home on May 26, 2024, after a brief battle with grade 4 glioblastoma (brain cancer).

Born on August 31, 1961, in Ogden, UT, Lorrilla was adopted by her loving parents, Vaida and Lorrin Mabus. She grew up surrounded by family, including her two brothers, Reml and Devynn, and enjoyed spending time hanging out with friends in her neighborhood.

A kind, caring, and giving person, Lorrilla always put the needs of others before her own. Her love for the outdoors found expression in exploring nature. She also had a deep affection for cats and frogs and enjoyed curling up with a good true crime podcast or TV show. Lorrilla loved listening to country music and watching Hallmark Christmas movies. Christmas brought her immense joy, and she wasn't one to wait for December to embrace the festive spirit.

Married to John Walthall in 1988, Lorrilla cherished her time raising her children, Kamber (born in 1989) and Kolby (born in 1992). Although later divorced, she remained a devoted and loving mother. Being a mother was one of the most important parts of her life, a role that gave her much pride and joy. Those who knew her will remember her as an excellent mom, supportive, kind, hilarious, and witty. They miss her constant presence and unwavering support, whether it was cheering them on at a band concert or being their biggest fan at a sporting event. They miss her so much already.

Lorrilla had a passion for capturing memories through photography. Her camera was her constant companion, and she had an extraordinary talent for turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. Her infectious laugh and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Preceded in death by her parents, Vaida and Lorrin Mabus, and her brother, Devynn, Lorrilla leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a passion for life. She is survived by her children, Kolby and Kamber (Kyle), and her brother, Reml (Debbie).

A graveside service will be held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery on June 1, 2024, at 12:00 p.m.
