Lorri is survived by her partner, Al Hutcheson, who stayed by her side until the end of her journey. Her legacy also lives on through her sisters, Tami Marley, Rory Calhoun Jr., Uncle Bobby, cousins and nephews. Lorri was predeceased by her father, Hollywood actor Rory Calhoun, her mother, Singer/Actress Lita Baron and her sister, Cindy Calhoun.
A celebration of Lorri’s charismatic life will be held on August 18, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Get Down Music Venue in Portland, Oregon. This gathering is an invitation to reminisce about all the beautiful moments Lorri shared with us.
Known for her huge heart and a deep love for animals, Lorri dedicated her time as an employee and volunteer at the Oregon Zoo Foundation. She had many different jobs, but this was her favorite. She cherished the time she got to spend with all of the animals, especially Jackson the chimpanzee. She was an avid reader, with a particular liking for “The Lord of the Rings”, “Game of Thrones”, and “Harry Potter”. Lorri’s love for music was undeniable, with favorites like the Beatles, Heart, Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones and Tina Turner always on her playlist.
A mainstay in the Portland music scene since the mid to late 80’s, she fronted or sang background vocals for Nimble Darts, Jon Koonce, Off the Record, The Jammies, just to name a few. No one who ever heard her sing will forget that voice.
Her favorite foods were an eclectic mix of Mexican cuisine, sushi, and Italian delicacies. Lorri’s recreational activities included reading a book, watching a show, and spending quality time with her friends. Her outgoing and funny personality, accompanied by a great twisted sense of humor, made her the life of any gathering.
Lorri’s zest for life is well illustrated by one of her greatest accomplishments, notably the time when she was kicked off the set of Gilligan’s Island, which her father Rory was guest starring on, because she wouldn’t stop climbing the scaffolding. Lorri’s legacy is best encapsulated by her music, her enchanting voice, the cherished memories, and the enduring friendships she made.
The void left by Lorri is heartfelt by everyone who had the honor of meeting her. Her charm, wit, and free spirit have left an indelible mark on our hearts, ensuring that she will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Oregon Zoo in her name.
