Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Lorraine E. Merrick
Sunrise: October 27, 1948 – Sunset: October 22, 2025
Lorraine E. Merrick, a woman whose faith was as steadfast as her love was deep, entered into eternal rest on October 22, 2025, surrounded by her family and the comforting presence of God’s peace.
Born on October 27, 1948, Lorraine lived her life with a beautiful balance of strength and grace. She was a woman who took no nonsense, yet carried a heart as gentle as a flower. Her laughter could brighten any room, and her faith could steady any storm. Those who knew her best will remember her as a prayer warrior—someone whose words to heaven were as powerful as her embrace on earth.
Lorraine’s legacy is written in the lives she touched and the prayers she prayed. She was resilient through every trial, compassionate in every encounter, and forgiving beyond measure. Her joy, humor, and unwavering hope reflected her belief that even in darkness, there is always light.
She was the devoted wife of Noel Merrick, and a loving mother to Brian Merrick, Ayana Harrison, and Noelle Merrick, and was preceded in death by her beloved son Ayinde Merrick. Lorraine’s heart extended to her twelve cherished grandchildren: Isaiah Runyon, Victoria Harrison, Hyron Harrison, Eithan Merrick, Amani Wallace, Brianna Merrick, Jamelah Haddad, Jaleel Haddad, Vincent Merrick, Brooklyn Wallace, Skylar Merrick, and Melody Warren—each of whom carries a piece of her light within them.
She is also remembered with love by her siblings Sartell Jackson, Ron Jackson, (preceded in death) Charles Jackson, and Gail Jackson, as well as countless friends and loved ones who found in her a source of wisdom, laughter, and comfort.
Lorraine’s faith never wavered. Through her prayers, her kindness, and her unshakeable spirit, she reminded everyone that God’s love is ever-present, even in our hardest moments. She lived her faith out loud and left behind a legacy of love that will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her.
Though her earthly journey has ended, her light continues to shine through her family, her faith, and the countless lives she touched.
