Lorraine's obituary
She is survived by her daughter, Emily Eckenroth, her much anticipated future son-in-law, Andrew Downs, her beloved and devoted sister, Bernadette Jamiol, niece, Stephanie Weiner and countless golden girl friends.
170 Americans are diagnosed with Leukemia every day, 67 lose the fight. On average, one Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) patient requires 45 pints of red blood cells and 48 pints of platelets PER treatment. Inventory in 2021 is the lowest it has been in over a decade. If just 1% more Americans would give blood, shortages would disappear for the foreseeable future. In lieu of donations, please give blood. The Red Cross App on any device makes it extremely easy. If you are unable to donate blood, you may consider making a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) or the Patient Access Network (PAN); both of these organizations have played an extremely supportive role in Lorraine’s Leukemia fight.
Visitation will be held at the Robinson Wright & Weymer Funeral Home (34 Main St, Centerbrook, CT 06409) on Sunday, December 12 from 1:00pm-3:00pm. A funeral mass will be held at St Joseph’s Church (48 Middlesex Ave, Chester, CT 06412) on Monday, December 13 at 10:30am.
