Lori's obituary

Lori Gail Jenkins, 65, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Lori was born on September 19, 1959, in Texas City, Texas, to Marvin and Doris Suits.

She graduated from South Houston High School with honors and later attended San Jacinto Community College, where she earned her associate’s degree in business administration. While working for Valtek International, she met the love of her life, Harry Jenkins. Lori and Harry were married on July 29, 1983, and together they built a life filled with love, happiness, and devotion to both each other and their family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Doris, and her sister, Shelli.

Those who knew Lori will remember her for her selfless devotion to her family, friends, and extended family—and for her joy in spoiling each and every one of her grandchildren. She further illustrated her giving spirit by continuing to deliver care packages to her sister’s special-needs friends for years after her sister’s passing. Lori loved fishing and was especially proud of the 10 lb. 8 oz. bass she caught from Lake Palestine. In true Lori fashion, she needed no fancy lures or gear, hauling it in with just a bobber and worm. Her gaudy river hat, so loaded with fake flowers that bees often swarmed around her head, was a familiar sight on the Frio River, which she dearly loved. Lori was always the life of the party, often photobombing unsuspecting family members in countless pictures. Her late-night phone calls to family and friends—talking about everything under the sun—brought light into the lives of everyone she loved and will be sorely missed. She was the lynchpin of the Jenkins family, coordinating family dinners on Tuesday evenings, where she routinely cooked for upwards of 30 people. She embraced this task without complaint, in a continuous effort to promote family unity. She was a wonderful wife, mother, Granny, and Great-Granny. She touched the lives of more people than she could ever imagine, and we’ll miss her dearly.

At Lori’s request, there will be no viewing. A short graveside service will be held on September 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Grand View Memorial Park, 8516 Spencer Hwy, Deer Park, TX 77536.

There will be lunch and a celebration of life at 2630 Morning Glory following the conclusion of the service.
