Loretta was known for her many money ball, ribbon animals and fruit creations! And I was invited to Loretta’s money ball making class on Tuesday February 18, 2020. I, along with Nancy & Jinny had a wonderful laugh out loud fun time! I had the most trouble making one and Loretta corrected me so many times, that she said I was using all the staples! It was so funny having her remove all my boo boo’s! And she gifted us fluffy slippers which she was so happy to give because she had gotten such a great deal - 99c a pair! Then she cooked us dinner, her version of a poor man’s surf and turf, which was pork chops and fried shrimp and it was delicious! There was baked sweet potato, corn on the cob and salad too! And for dessert we had cheesecake and jello. Not her famous layered rainbow jello but jello with fruit! Thank you Caryn for taking this photo of us! And now when I look at my money ball, it will bring a smile to my face and with love, remembering Loretta and her patience with helping me make it! You will be dearly missed!

My sincere condolences to you and your entire family! The first time I ever met her was last year when she made me a money ball. She was the absolute sweetest lady!! I will always be grateful for my money ball and now every time I look at it I will always remember her ♥️
I have so many stories and memories of Loretta but I’ll write about a recent one.
It was Nov 2019 and Loretta had expressed a desire to cook for a group of us. Hosted by Caryn, a bunch of us had a great time feasting on Loretta’s marvelous lasagna! I have a new granddaughter, Lilo (now 23 months) and was showing Loretta a collection of photos. She asked me what Lilo calls me and I told her, I was still undecided. Loretta convinced me it should be “Por Por” to keep her heritage. I had resisted for months because I recently lost my own mother and felt she was the only Por Por. But Loretta said Lilo needs to have a Por Por so at that moment, I made the decision! And every time Lilo calls me Por Por, I am reminded of Loretta. ❤️

Loretta Chow Handmade this for our Chinese New Year. It is really heartbreaking. I’m feeling so sorry for Sheryl and your families.
My deepest condolences to Russ, Caryn, Sheryl, and your families on the loss of your Mom. We all already miss Aunt Loretta dearly. When Grandma Helen passed away 28 years ago, Aunt Loretta took over Nenny's place in my life, and became my phone buddy each week. She always had a listening ear, and she helped me through many difficult times in my life, just by listening. She was an amazing Aunt to me, and a Matriarch for our entire extended family, and we could always count on her to take charge when no one else did. She was smart, practical, funny, and wise, and I greatly valued her advice on life. Aunt Loretta could make money balls, and beaded origamis like no one else, and she was a great cook, and a great resource for any kind of Chinese and Family traditions. But she was also a great friend to me, whom I will dearly miss. She truly was a VPG (Very Pretty Googie). She especially loved her children and grandchildren, and was always so proud of each of you and your accomplishments, and she appreciated each of you for the individuals that you are. I thank God for the time Aunt Loretta spent with us all here on earth. We have so many great cruise memories, Bradley Beach memories, and other memories with our entire family and Aunt Loretta. I hope that she is now enjoying her time in heaven with Uncle Joe, her parents, Marilyn, Doey, and my Dad. RIP VPG.
Don't believe this. .. Loretta Chow message me a few years ago telling me she knew my dad. I could not put one to one together. She told me her late husband was best friend with my dad. From that day Loretta being more than a friend. She would call me asking how well I was doing. Always making sure I am fine. During my trip going home to Puerto Rico she would always make sure I was safe. She asked her niece Linda Lee to become friends with me. Every birthday she would send me these amazing wishes. She is beyond amazing on my list. She will always be a family friend to me. I will miss her dearly. My condolences to her family and love ones. Loretta may you rest in Peace. Love you.. Gigi
My dear God-Por Por,

You were nothing but a rock! Thank You for always taking me in and made sure I was taken care of like I was your very own grandson!

I’m so sorry I have not been around. I wish you could have been able to see you and introduce you to my kids (Your God-Grand-children).

May you watch over us as angels with Gong Gong by your side now. Until we meet again... Love you Por...
Sending sincerest condolences to the entire family. I had the honor of meeting Loretta 2 times; once at a wedding and once at a memorial. In those two brief encounters, she left a mark and a clear memory in my heart. What a force of nature. I’m fortunate to have met her and to know those she loved and influenced.
Regards and prayers for all,
Amy Kraft
