Loretta Marie Woolsey Cheney, born in Brooklyn, NY on July 3, 1946, a resident of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, passed away on October 29, 2021. Loretta was a loving mother to Keith, Robin, Eric and Brooke; aunt to Peter Woolsey, Jr., and grandmother to Serena Cheney. Loretta loved her family and always put them first, in three countries and three different states. She was a tireless worker who selflessly gave her time and creative energy to her community, volunteering at the local elementary school for nearly three decades. From her early job working for the Department of the Navy, to her years teaching computer skills, to her later career in retail management, she demonstrated an unflagging work ethic and integrity that served as a model to all who knew her. After retiring, she loved to devour books and crosswords, and cherish time spent with family and friends. She continued with her volunteer work at the local library, one of her favorite places. Throughout her life, she always tried to do the best she could and encouraged others to do the same. She will be greatly missed by those fortunate enough to have experienced her endless capacity for love.
