Lonnie's obituary
Lonnie A. Brady (98), of Tampa, Florida, went home to be with the Lord, July 26, 2025. Born on December 5, 1926, in Odessa, Florida, Lonnie’s long and remarkable life was grounded in faith, hard work, and deep devotion to his family and church. A proud veteran of World War II, he exemplified dedication and resilience throughout his years. He was a true entrepreneur, owning small businesses and providing for those he loved.
He was a steadfast attendee at The General Assembly of the Pentecostal Church, where he touched countless lives through his work as an ordained minister. His love of God was a cornerstone of his life, and he took immense joy in sharing the word of God with family, friends, and strangers – always with the hope of guiding others to the promise of Heaven.
Lonnie is survived by his children, Daniel and Melissa, Mary Alice, Theresa, Richard, Robin, James, Lonnie Jr., and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives Mary, Doris and Mable, and children Barbara, Laura, Bruce, Scott, Robert, Marsha, and Timothy.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2, at Swilley Funeral Home at 1602 W. Waters Ave, Tampa. Visitation 10:00 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery with military honors. His life and legacy will be celebrated and honored, surrounded by those who loved him. His generosity, compassion and kindness radiated to those around him. We will miss you Dad, Grandpa, and friend.
