Please accept my sincere condolence on your loss. I have fond memories of visiting the ranch in Bend. Lon was delighted to host my family and share his peaceful oasis. I will not forget his hospitality and infectious enthusiasm for life. May he rest in peace.

I was very sorry to learn that Lon has passed. He gave me my first job as an attorney right out of law school and I learned more about being a lawyer from him than I ever learned in school. The office in Wilsonville was a great place to work.

I have so many great memories of my uncle, but would like to share something that occurred to me a couple of days ago:
Lon knew the value of a good education, and while attending the University of Oregon, he convinced his brother Bob (my dad) to join him there. They’d reminisce about college all the time when I was growing up - about the positive impact it had had on their lives, and everything they’d learned, and some fun stuff, too. I listened, fascinated, because I wanted to be like them.
I eventually got my degree - and both of my sons are college graduates, too. Who knows what the future holds?
It’s impossible to know how different things would have been, had not Lon cast this particular stone into the pond…but I can tell you that the ripples have spanned generations.
