Lola, you were one of a kind. From the first time we met back in 1986, I wanted to be just like you: hilariously sarcastic, quick-witted, smart, opinionated, and not afraid to speak your mind. Life threw you some curve balls but you always persevered. You are and will always be hero. Enjoy the pain-free and peaceful ever after, my friend. Love, Liz

Lola, I will never forget your fabulous sense of humor. You always made me laugh. I enjoyed our visit back in February in Galveston sitting on a bench on the seawall catching up and talking about old times. I’m so glad we had that moment. You will be greatly missed.

I’m sorry for you loss. Lola was a great woman, intelligent, and wonderful chef.

She had a great sense of humor and was wonderful to be able to speak with her on any kind of topics.

Xandra and I really enjoyed each time we had the chance to see her with Matt and we will miss her greatly.
