Lois's obituary

Born Lois Gloria Weinberger on October 23rd, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio to Harry and Cecilia Weinberger, Lois was the middle child of three siblings. Growing up, she was very close to her older sister, Roz, and adored her younger brother, Shelly. When she was a teenager, her family moved to Los Angeles, California, where she started school at Los Angeles High School. While Lois was sad about moving away from Cleveland and leaving her life-long best friend, Florence, she was happy to start a new beginning in Los Angeles. After graduating from Los Angeles High School, she attended UCLA for a year. It was there where she met her soulmate, Fred Weinberg. He was just coming back from serving in the Navy when they met at a sorority party. Because their last names were so similar (Weinberg and Weinberger) and their birthdays were a day apart (Lois' 10/23 and Fred's 10/24), their friends wanted them to meet. Once they met, they immediately fell in love, and not shortly after, they got married. They had their first child, a daughter, Karen Lynn Weinberg Cherner. They were so excited to be parents. After the birth of their first child, they knew they wanted to have another child. A few years later, they had their son, Clifford Jay Weinberg. Lois worked with Fred in his clothing store in Culver City and they lived a great life filled with travel and fun! In 1989, they welcomed their first grandchild, a granddaughter named Michelle. She was born to Karen and her then-husband Eli. In 1994, Lois and Fred welcomed their second grandchild as their son Clifford had a son with his wife Jeanette. His name is William. Lois loved being a mother and grandmother so much! Family was so important to her.
