Lois's obituary
Lois Myer went home to Jesus on February 15, 2025, at age 93.
Lois was born to Philo and Mabel on September 11, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio. She attended Bowling Green University at a time when few women pursued higher education and went on to build a career while raising a family. She met her husband, John Myer, in 1951 at Bowling Green, and they married in 1953. Together, they had two identical twin boys, Karl and Ken.
Lois was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, but she was also a woman of deep faith and service. She had a heart for helping others and spent much of her life ministering to those in need. At Saint Edward Episcopal Church, she participated in the Leads program, where she experienced the power of healing through prayer and the presence of the Holy Spirit for the first time. She later found a home at Redeemer’s Church, where she helped run the children’s ministry.
Lois’s faith and passion for serving others continued when she became part of the Vineyard Church of Columbus. She started a Vineyard home group, led the food pantry, and encouraged others from her kinship group to volunteer. She played a vital role in developing the church’s marriage counseling ministry and the soaking prayer teams. She also led small groups and eventually attended Chapel on the Vine, where she remained active in her faith community.
Beyond her dedication to faith and service, Lois loved art, tennis, and gardening. She found joy in creating beauty, whether through painting, nurturing a garden, or pouring into the lives of those around her. Her unwavering faith in God and her servant’s heart touched countless lives.
Lois now joins her parents and brother in Heaven. She is survived by her two sons, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, and four nieces.
Her legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
