Lois's obituary

On May 27, 2023, we lost a wonderful woman -Lois Edra Chambers- after a long life of 91 years. Lois was living in Jackson Georgia, before a debilitating fall that put her into a nursing home, where she ultimately passed.

Lois was born July 27, 1931 in Coehill, Canada to Edra and Barney Moss. She has one living sister Joan Ione Gamblin, later in her childhood, her mother remarried Dan Nash, and brought her beloved half brother Gary Nash into the world. Lois spent her childhood and early adulthood in Canada, where she went to cosmetology school and owned her own hair salon, before moving to Franklin Springs, Georgia in the early 1960’s. She had married Frank Novak and given birth to her only daughter Robin Novak. Lois continued her cosmetology career in Georgia, doing hair for 50 years before her retirement. When she wasn’t occupied with work, you could find her at a skating rink or an ice skating rink, having cultivated her skills in Canada. As for her home life, Lois enjoyed spending time with her family, including many pets throughout the years that she considered family always treating them like royalty. She was known to bring home her leftover steak dinner for her pets to share.

Lois Chambers, known as Nanny to her family and their friends, was blessed with a loving family to keep her memory alive, headed by her daughter Robin McDonald, followed by her brother Gary Nash, her grandchildren Tommy McDonald (Heather) and Tamara Adelberg (Larry), great grandchildren, Hannah and Davis McDonald, Kendra and Joshua Adelberg, and her great-great grandchildren Decca and Solomon Stevens. In her last place of residence, an independent senior living facility, she had many close friends who will miss her and remember her fondly. Lois was preceded in death by her infant granddaughter Sherry Edra Chapman, her mother Edra Moss Nash and younger sister June Iona Moss. While no public service was be held for Lois, her ashes were buried with close family members attending a small graveside service at her final resting place in Franklin Springs next to her Mother where she first started her journey in Georgia.
