Loida's obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our Mom and Grandma, Loida Marcelo on May 9, 2023. Born on December 20, 1940, Loida raised her four children as a single Mom and worked 2 full time jobs as a surgical tech to financially support them. She had an incredible work ethic and strong spiritual beliefs. It was a must for her to pray before we left her side or went on a car ride. Her favorite pastime was cooking for her family and was an excellent Filipina chef. She especially enjoyed chatting with friends and was a true social butterfly. She cherished spending time with her kids, grandkids and family.
Loida is survived by her children, Cherry & Barry Borm, Chad Cometa, Harry & Elizabeth Cometa, and Lorie & Roland Redfield, her sister Rebecca Ulangca, sister-in-law Sue Marcelo, her beloved grandchildren Leilani Borm, Danielle Borm, Billy Borm, Spencer Redfield, Jackson Redfield, Remington Redfield, and Lucas Cometa, as well as many other nieces and nephews, and cousins. Together, they will continue to honor Loida's legacy of true grit and persistence, keeping her memory alive in their hearts and actions.
More than just a loving mother and grandmother, Loida was a very creative person who loved to make beautiful music with both, her accordion and piano. She left us life lessons, such as being the epitome of true grit and persistence, which served as guiding principles not only for her children but for everyone who crossed her path. Loida's legacy as an example of strength and determination will continue to inspire all who knew her.
