KELENY, Lloyd Gerhardt, age 66, passed away peacefully in his sleep, listening to music and watching the river float by at his Cabin on the Rock Wednesday, September 28, 2022. Lloyd is survived by his Mother, Rita Keleny (Ripp), his children, Jake (Sandra) Keleny, Molly Keleny, Robyn Keleny; his grandchild, Jackelyn; siblings Art (Amy) Keleny, Bryan (Sally) Keleny, Earl Keleny, Raymond Keleny, Tom Keleny, and Christine (Andy) Craven and the mother of his children, Jan Keleny.

Lloyd was born and raised in Madison, WI. He attended UW - Platteville, graduating from UW - Madison. He moved to Champlin MN where he worked as a mechanical engineer for close to 40 years with accomplishments ranging from patenting his own wheel design for Rollerblade to designing the world’s smallest air filter for a colostomy bag.

Lloyd lived his life savoring each day, regardless of the circumstance. A passionate outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed paddling canoes and kayaks, biking to and from work nearly year round, was an accomplished skier and in-line skater who competed regularly in the Birkebeiner and mountain bike races. An exceptionally skilled woodworker, he crafted his own cedar strip kayaks winning Grand Champion at the Minnesota State Fair. Weekends were filled with boy scout trips, boating with family and sharing hilariously entertaining stories around the campfire.

In passing, Lloyd has been reunited with his father, and namesake, Lloyd J Keleny, in the Great Beyond for the next big adventure.

Services for Lloyd will be held Saturday, October 8th, 1pm at Cress Funeral & Cremation Services (3610 Speedway Road, Madison, WI 53705) with a celebration of life to follow at The Olbrich Park Biergarten (3527 Atwood Ave, Madison, WI 53714).
