Lloyd Amos Hemman
of Clovis, California and formerly of Manteca, California where he lived for 42 years, peacefully left this world on October 27, 2022.
Lloyd was born on April 11, 1933 to Griffen Henry Hemman and Vennie Opal Daniels Hemman in Oklahoma. He later moved to California. Lloyd attended Raisin City Elementary and graduated from Caruthers Union High School where he was active in FFA and was Chapter President.
Lloyd and his first wife Betty Reddell had 3 children.
In 1973 Lloyd met and married the love of his life Cecily Marie Kroos Arnold. To this wonderful union Lloyd brought Lloyd Allen Hemman (Lezlie), Barbara Lynn Hemman Dehl (Curtis) and Curtis Neal Hemman (Diana). Cecily brought Jacqueline Rigmor Arnold-Eriksen (Eric) and Lisa Ann Arnold Beckham (Mark). Together they had Michael Todd Hemman (Caitlyn) and Bryan Christopher Hemman (Heidi). They also have 11 living grandchildren and 12 living great grandchildren. Lloyd is survived by 1 brother, James and 3 sisters, Deloris, Velma, and Clara. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, (Bill), a son (Loyd Allen) two daughters, (Jacqueline and Lisa) a granddaughter (Cassie), a grandson, (Aaron) and a great grandson. (Alexander).
Lloyd and Cecily were lucky to have lived and traveled together throughout the US. Over the course of their marriage, they lived in Idaho, Louisiana, Texas, and California. Lloyd’s career was spent working in managerial positions in the chemical fertilizer business.
Lloyd had many activities and hobbies. Open Wheel Racing was his passion. He was the head mechanic for 3 of his sons throughout their racing careers and was fortunate to participate in racing activities throughout the US. He made many great friends at the racetrack and was always the first to lend a hand when a fellow racer needed help. Lloyd had many activities and hobbies. He helped with the chain gang for Manteca High Football for 22 years, he coached youth soccer and played adult soccer and was a very active 4-H leader for several years with his daughter and 2 sons raising and showing cattle at local fairs.
Lloyd was a family man. He never missed a race at the track or on TV. A visit from his children and grandchildren would never pass without him making his famous chocolate gravy and biscuits. He was kind, caring, and always put the family he loved dearly first.
