I am so sorry to hear of Lisa's passing. I had messaged her recently on LinkedIn and thought it was out of character for her not to respond - which led me here.
Lisa ran a program I attended through MNBC in 2022 which was pivotal in shaping not just my career aspirations but my heart. It was so clear how much of herself she invested into her relationships and I treasured her warmth, her humour and her good spirits. We had kept in touch regularly for a while after her class concluded but I had popped on there to let her know several years later that I was still seeing echoes of her influence in my life. She had made a true difference for me in one of the most challenging years I have experienced. What a legacy to leave behind - not only careers boosted but souls uplifted by her intelligence, thoughtfulness and encouragement.

I'm just shocked to hear about this. Lisa was heaven sent. At a time when my morale and confidence was so low, I was working a crappy job, Lisa helped me transition my career and secure a job with a great organisation. I have never seen anyone care so deeply and show excellent skills at what they do. I'm forever grateful to her. She gave my professional life a second start. May this beautiful angel rest in peace. Sending her so much love and a big hug wherever she is. Thank you Lisa.

Hello, my name is Michele from Philadelphia, PA, and I am so so sad to hear of Lisa's passing. Lisa helped me write my resume years ago and has been a constant and kind resource to me in my career. We had small conversations about family and friends and good books! She was one of the smartest people I knew. She will be missed.

I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Lisa's family, friends and co-workers as I process the news of her passing. My heart is heavy. Lisa invited me to be part of her circle at MNBC and I loved each opportunity to work with her - she was so funny, open, kind and caring. I know our Metis community was blessed by her presence and wisdom. Lisa, thank you for sharing your journey with me! I will miss your sweet spirit and your laughter.
Many thanks for posting the video of Lisa's memorial service. I just watched it and it was so touching - I know Lisa would have loved it! She would have been amazed - so much love in one room!
Rest in His peace, Lisa. You were very special to me and I will miss you.
Love
Auntie Sandi, Metis Elder

Today, July 12th, I just discovered that Lisa suddenly passed away 3 weeks ago. I am in shock, as I am sure so many of us are. I had only known Lisa for a short time over this past year at her (our) church, yet we really clicked together and shared a bond as close friends would. I loved hearing about her Métis heritage.
Lisa introduced me to you, Laura, at the church, when you came out last Christmas to visit her. I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I would love to keep in touch with you if you would like. I also remember Lisa mentioning her brother, Duncan, and her sister-in-law, and her dearly loved niece and nephew.
Lisa and I share the same name. Lisa was generous with her time and very personable. She was empathetic. She understood what broken families were. We shared times of prayer such as this past April when she prayed for me as I was about to depart to go to see my own sister for the last time (who was palliative and dying from cancer).
A blessed memory that I treasure is of being able to treat her for an after-church lunch at the White Spot.
I recognize that Lisa’s exuberance for life stemmed from her love and relationship with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus. Lisa will always be a heroine of faith for me for the rest of my days. I praise my God for her. She is in His presence now and continuing to serve Him joyfully.

Please accept our condolences for her family & especially her daughter Laura. Lisa was always so proud of her achievements. Laura was always mentioned in her prayers, during our Imago Dei Group times. Blessings to all her family, her church members & her Imago Dei friends.

I first met Lisa when she and Ariel Bowers started attending our Tri-Cities Imago Dei group. I remember her as quiet, strong and encouraging, but she also had a sense of humour which caught you off guard. She and I bonded over both our spirituality and our explorations of our FN ancestry. I will always cherish her warmth, her wisdom and the light she brought to so many. My heartfelt condolences to her brothers and sisters and daughter, Laura. She will be greatly missed.

I first met Lisa Stephen at an ERBF women’s retreat at Stillwood. I was struck by her love and care for others, and her passion in praying for people. It has been a blessing knowing Lisa. Deepest condolences to the family.

Lisa and I met while I was studying CDP at Simon Fraser University - she was teaching me resumes in the way that only Lisa can - with passion and infectious enthusiasm. In the month or so that followed, I arranged a video call with Lisa to talk about how and why she loved doing what she was doing at MNBC. Of course I had an ulterior motive (which I fessed up to right off the top) - I had just interviewed on the position that would make me her counterpart, her work companion, her auxiliary brain storage, and eventually her partner in planning, plotting, scheming (good things!). We shared inspiration, laughter, frustrations, sometimes tears, hopes and dreams, and wishes for others - especially those we love.
Lisa, I miss you a million times a day. You always said this was your legacy role. I will always check my work against your standard, your compassion, and your can-do spirit. You live on in the "E" every day. As well, I believe MNBC is creating a staff award in your name which will be awarded annually.
Your colleagues miss you. Your clients miss you. I miss you, my sister from another Mister.
xoxo Janice

I first met Lisa when we were students at Braemar Elementary. Even as a young girl she was kind, friendly and easy to talk to. I am sad to hear of her passing and send her family and friends my heartfelt condolences.

I went to Sudbury in the winter of 1979 with my high school basketball team. My brother was at Laurentien University and wanted to introduce me to his girlfriend, Lisa. We had a great time getting to know each other and then was lucky enough to have her as a sister in law. Amazing memories and an amazing lady. 💕💜❤️
