Lisa Rapp was born to Mary and Dominic Spirito in Los Angeles, California, the second of two children. She grew up in the nearby suburb of South Gate where she attended both public and private schools. She developed her life long interest in music during this time, learning several instruments and performing in several diverse ensembles, eventually becoming the drum major of her high school band.
