Lisa's obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Lisa Gould on October 10, 2024. Born on July 18, 1962, Lisa was an emblem of brilliance, fun, and love. She left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
Lisa is preceded in death by her loving husband, David Gould, whom she married in 1981, and her mother, Janet Rickenbacker. She is survived by her children - Stephanie Gould, Andrew Gould, and Daniel Gould and her daughter-in-law, Julie Gould. Her grandson, Robert Schmid, and her sisters, Beth Schaefer and Susan El-Masri, also survive her.
Lisa was a beacon of light in education. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Florida Atlantic University in 1996. Her commitment and caring approach made her one of the best teachers and Student Government Association Advisors in Broward County. Her legacy will live on as she has raised many school and community leaders.
Her life was not all work; Lisa had a soft spot for the arts, sports, and music. Her favorite band was Journey, and she loved Picasso and Monet's works. She enjoyed solving puzzles and was the biggest Miami Dolphins and Hurricanes fan. She loved being with her pets, Chewy and Leia, and visiting the beach.
Lisa devoted herself to SFLTC, Freedom Foundation, Student Government, FASCA, BCASC, and D-6, among others. Her favorite color was blue, which led to her infamous nickname, "Blue."
She was a woman who believed in empowering others. The best lesson she taught was about believing in oneself. She instilled this belief in her children, her students, and everyone around her.
She will be deeply missed. Her life was a testament to service, love, and dedication. May her soul find eternal peace.
