It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lisa Bellard, a doting mother, who left us on May 6, 2023. Born on April 5, 1964, Lisa touched the lives of many with her unique, brave, and persistent personality. Her unwavering strength and dedication to her family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Lisa's greatest accomplishment was her many years as a single mother, where she demonstrated a level of commitment and boldness that was apparent to all who had the privilege of witnessing it. Her love for her children was evident, and she helped shape them into the remarkable individuals they are today. 

She leaves to cherish her memories: her two children, Melany Champagne of Lafayette and Brandon Fontenot of Houston; one grandson Maximilian Champagne; one granddaughter, Kennedy Champagne; two sisters, Chasity Monier of Mamou and Justine Daigle of Pine Prairie. 

Lisa was preceded in death by her husband, Jamie Bellard; father, Wayne Matt; her mother, Charleen Matt; two brothers, Clem Matt and Todd Matt; and one sister, Donna Matt. 

In her memory, and to honor her lasting legacy, donations can be made to offset her memorial costs, or the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration. As we say our final goodbyes to Lisa Bellard, we hold onto the cherished memories and the priceless lessons she has shared with us. Her brave and loving spirit will forever be a shining example of what it means to be a devoted mother, friend, and human being. Rest in peace, dear Lisa. Your legacy will live on through the lives you touched and the love you shared.
