Linsel, my dear friend, I am deeply grateful to you. Although I've never mentioned it, I grew up without a father. This absence allowed me to imagine the kind of father I would have liked to have, and you embody that ideal more than anyone else. I fondly recall our trip to Gloucester for deep-sea fishing, my very first time on a charter boat and fishing, no less, in my twenties. I also remember the time my house basement flooded, and you came by to offer advice on repairing my basement. I remember when you would ask for my opinion at work, a testament to the respect you held for me—a respect I reciprocated even more profoundly—will always stay with me. Observing your pride when you spoke of your daughters and family was truly heartwarming and admirable. R.I.P. old man..
