Link's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Link Leocorde, born on August 6, 1988, who left us on October 13, 2024. Link was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend to many. He is survived by his parents, brother and close extended family and his loving wife and children.
Link had a personality that was larger than life. He was funny, loyal, and idealistic. His zeal for life and radiant personality always found a way to leave those around him smiling. Link knew how to see the humor in life's everyday circumstances and had a knack for bringing warmth and laughter into any room.
He was an enthusiastic student, and earned a degree in Classical Civilizations from University of Oregon. He dreamt of being an anthropologist, but instead prioritized supporting his family, and became a talented business systems analyst.
Link had a diverse range of interests, from literature, music, and film, to food and recreation. He had a love for the culinary delicacy of ribs, a taste he often joked was necessary for every true man. An avid reader, Link found joy in books such as Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and The Poetic Edda. He was a talented guitarist, and loved classic rock.
In the realm of television and film, Link was a fan of Stargate SG-1, Star Wars and held a special place in his heart for the movie, Hatari. A born strategist, he greatly enjoyed playing Risk and Minecraft. More than just a screen enthusiast, Link also found joy outside of the digital world. He loved relaxing on his motorcycle and, above all else, spending time with his kids. His ultimate vacation spots were any beach, anywhere, where he could enjoy the sun, sand, and surf.
Link also cared deeply about equal rights and dedicated considerable time and effort to causes that promoted this ideal. He believed in a world where everyone had the same opportunities and rights, and he strove to make this vision a reality.
Link Leocorde was a man of integrity, humor, and unwavering loyalty. His loss is deeply felt by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones. We honor his life and carry forward his legacy of laughter, love, and a steadfast belief in the rights of all.
