Chateau Ste Michele concert i…
Chateau Ste Michele concert in the park in the pouring rain, but still smiling together
Lindsey was always a smile when you needed it a laugh when you were down and could really dig her hands into the dirt. She helped grow and glean fresh food for those in need and did everything in her power to work with for and with the local community. She ran her food team with honor and grace, brought joy and happiness to light up your day and fought hard for herself and others in need. She will always shine down on those who fight for others and her smile will live on. My respect and love to everyone who connected with her and send grace to her family and friends.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Lindsey’s family. We were blessed to work with Lindsey as a colleague, advocate, and a friend. She always approached work challenges as an opportunity to make things better and was a wonderful part of our work family. Her gentle and kind spirit was ever present, and her thoughtfulness was unwavering. Her love of getting to the meaning of things made every conversation a treasure…personally and professionally. She had a sparkle about her that just made her special. For me, I still smile that she was the one that would introduce my sister and I to yoga at winery…but that was so Lindsey. Our WSDA team will miss her greatly and not forget the amazing impact she had on our work and lives.

Upon receiving this difficult news, the Washington State Department of Agriculture Food Assistance team reached out to the vast hunger relief network that Lindsey worked so closely with. Immediately, there was an outpouring of love and condolences. Below are a small portion of the beautiful words shared with us that captivate the energy and passion that Lindsey brought to her work.

“I had the pleasure of knowing Lindsey through emails and Zoom meetings and always felt that our little food bank was in good caring hands.”

“Lindsay has been on my speed dial for the last two years. Always so kind, clear, and supportive of the work we are all doing. She was particularly good at listening to our communities unique needs, advocating for support, and developing clear and accountable pathways making support available without impossible barriers. She was a true hunger and humanitarian Shero.”

“Shocking and sad news…..she was an ally to us Tribes and her kindness and advocacy will not be forgotten!! Many prayers for the family and WSDA team. I pray for Creator to help fulfill every need, both spoken and unspoken. ❤”

“Thank you for reaching out and allowing us to mourn with you. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Lindsey. She was a consummate professional with a caring and supportive heart for the organizations she served. Working with her and the team was enlightening and meaningful, and it inspired us to do our absolute best for WSDA, our community, and ultimately, the people we both serve.”

“Lindsey was so well known throughout our community as a kind, dedicated, and really knowledgeable advocate for our shared work. She will be deeply missed by so many -- and her loss will be felt for quite some time. Thinking of everyone who knew, worked with, and treasured Lindsey --- and of course her family and many friends.”

“Lindsey gave so much to the communities she loved. From the minute we met her, she welcomed us in with open arms and an open heart, always going the extra mile to give us the support we needed to be successful, always leading with grace and positivity and gratitude. Her LIGHT shines on.”

“To hear this news creates unspeakable sorrow and sense of loss. In the short time I have worked with Lindsey and the team, I feel a bond that goes beyond just the normal working relationship between governmental and partner entity, but a truly cooperative relationship that fosters and celebrates a personal connection. It was something that I tried to foster in my career work, and deeply appreciate that relationship. My heart aches.

Please accept our deepest sympathies and warmest wishes. The world is lesser today for the loss, but better for her humanity and contributions over her time here.”

Lindsey was a spectacular advocate for everyone around her. She was strong in her convictions and gentle with others as they learned and grew. We have all been immensely blessed by her spirit. She was kind and generous even through her most difficult times and last days. May we all strive to follow her example and extend grace and love to those around us.
