Lindsey's obituary
Lindsey Alexandra "Lula Bell" Harris, 31, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on August 6, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia. Born on May 6, 1993, Lindsey was a loving sister, aunt, and cherished member of her family, whose presence will be greatly missed.
A graduate of Woodlawn Magnet High School, Lindsey pursued higher education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, demonstrating a commitment to learning and growth. She navigated her way through life as a dedicated truck driver, a profession that suited her independent spirit and love for the open road.In her moments of solitude, Lindsey would often turn to drawing and singing, activities that allowed her to express her creativity and soothe her soul. These pastimes were not mere hobbies, but rather integral parts of her existence, reflecting the depth of her inner emotional landscape.
Lindsey faced life with a guarded yet loving disposition, especially as an affectionate sister and aunt. The challenges that marked her life's journey were met with strength, though they eventually led to her deciding to end her struggle. Her decision to take her own life reminds us of the profound impact that mental health can have on an individual.
She is survived by a family who loved her deeply: sister Cassandra (Allison) Lee, brother Andrew Lee Harris, aunt and surrogate mother Robyn Shepard Addison, and uncle and surrogate father Rodger Dale Addison Junior. And her friend Ashley.
A memorial service will be held in the comfort of her aunt and uncle's home, where those who knew Lindsey can gather to reflect on the happiness she brought into their lives and the enduring impact of her warm spirit.
In recognition of Lindsey's struggle and her desire to positively influence the world, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to support cancer research or to the Georgia PCOM, in honor of her commitment to body donation for medical science.
