This is such a difficult loss to me. Linda, my sister-in-law and i had so many memories together. I loved her so.

I'm not sure who will see this note, but I'm sitting here reading through this website with tears flowing down my face - Aunt Linda was an absolute joy to know. My husband, Travis, is Aunt Linda's nephew. When we got married, the ladies of the family threw me a "welcome to the family" lunch - but Aunt Linda had welcomed me years prior. The first day I met her, actually. She made me an individual serving of lasagna and never stopped smiling. She would tell me stories about the family - and never talked at me or around me, she always talked to me. She made sure I was following the details. She wanted me to know my new family.
She was always so proud of Travis -- because of her, his heart was filled with so much love: because he had the Saathoffs. Travis treasured his childhood with Shawna and Chris - and often tells our own kids about their far-away cousins and how much they've impacted him. We will continue to tell Linda stories ("we're going to town!") and feel blessed to have known her. Her memory will live on in our house, we'll make sure of it.
We love you Aunt Linda - give us a sign you made it there ok.
Love, Cait and your NJ family
