Linda's obituary

Linda Reneau (formerly of Groveland, IL), a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away at her home in Hudson, FL, on May 21, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on June 12, 1949, in Canton, IL, she lived a life filled with kindness, warmth, and sweetness for every soul she touched.

Linda was known for her radiant smile and captivating spirit. Her kindness extended not only to her family and friends but also to all those she had the fortune of meeting. Her home was always open to everyone, and her heart held limitless love for all. A sweet soul by nature, Linda's presence was a constant source of comfort, and her warm demeanor brought joy to every gathering.

Linda is survived by her caring husband of 57 years, Harry Reneau; her adoring children, Rob Reneau (David Stief) and Jennifer Goodapple (Jeremy); and her loving brothers, Chris Smith and Steve (Monica) Smith. Linda is also survived by five grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Kelsie (Trey), Alexa (Garrett), Amanda, Brady, and Adler; and two great-grandchildren, Sloane and Gianna. Her memory will continue to be honored by her family and friends who admired her pure-hearted personality and cherished her profound kindness.

She was preceded in death by her dear mother, Shirley Smith, father, Roy Smith, and brother, Dave Smith.

Linda was the epitome of a supportive, encouraging, and loving spouse. She enjoyed baking family recipes with her grandchildren, especially during the holidays, was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching Hallmark movies.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 28, at the Peoria Riverfront Museum from 1 to 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on her behalf to the Alzheimer's Association. Linda was a devout supporter of the Alzheimer's Association, having lost her mother-in-law, Dorothy Reneau, to the disease.
