Linda's obituary

Linda Ann Pitman, age 66, went to her Heavenly home on July 28, 2023 with her husband, Randy, holding her in his arms as she crossed into Heaven. Linda was born on June 26, 1957 in Avery county to the late Horton and Belva Ollis Holtzclaw. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Anthony Wayne, in 1985 and a brother, Lee Hotzclaw in 2014. She and Randy lived in Avery County for almost 45 years. Linda retired from the Avery County School System in 2021. She loved working around her house and most of all working in her garden and canning her fruits and vegetables. Linda and Randy loved traveling and were able to visit all 48 continental states, which was a dream come true. Linda made many friends during her lifetime and will always be remembered by the people whose lives she touched.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of what would have been 45 years August 13, Randy Pitman; sons: Ross (Anna) of Wilmington and Matt (Meredith) of Newland and five grandchildren: Conner, Coleton, Cash, Kaia and Airlie.

Funeral services will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, August 2 at Minneapolis Methodist Church. Pastor Jock Ollis, Rev. Dana Williams and Rev. Bryan Griffith will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 prior to the service at the church. A Private graveside service will be held in the Minneapolis Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to “Miss Linda’s Lunch Love”  which allows educators to bless their students with an act of kindness, just as Linda did.
