Linda's obituary
Linda was born in Louisville on August 28, 1951 to Lawrence Damon Jaggers and Evia Sands Jaggers. Linda was a graduate of Butler High School (1969), and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Louisville (1981). And her master's degree from Bellarmine College (1986). In addition, in 1999 she earned a doctorate in holistic theology from the American Institute of Holistic Theology.
After earning her undergraduate degree, Linda pursued a career as a certified public accountant in Kentuckiana, specializing in providing assistance to non-profit organizations. She was widely respected for her peacemaking and interfaith activities in the community, throughout the nation and around the world. In addition to being a founding member of the Greater Community Council, she was active with many progressive organizations including: Interfaith Paths to Peace, the Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, and MoveOn.org.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, and by her brother, Gary Jaggers. She is survived by her son, Clint Hodge, her daughter Christa Pate (Tony); her brothers Mike Jaggers (Pam) and Earl Jaggers (Tina) and her sister Jan Catlett (Bob). Her survivors also include five grandchildren: Keira Graham, Jamie and Jordan Pate, Madeline and Francis Hodge; and one great-grandchild: Braelynn Graham.
Her loves included the music of singer/songwriter Harry Chapin, the spiritually inspired music of Harry Pickens, and dancing with her many friends to her favorite reggae. Linda made a point of attending the annual Reggae Festival held at the Water Tower park and the World Fest in Louisville each year.
Linda's true devotion was to her beloved grandchildren. Coaching and cheering on cross country, watching dance recitals, and going to the Louisville Zoo, just to name a few of her favorite activities. Every moment with them she cherished.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday January 13 at the Drepung Gomang Center For Engaging Compassion in Louisville, at 411 North Hubbards Lane. Visitation beginning at 11 am with service from 1 pm - 2 pm.
