I remember when I first met Linda; she knocked on my front door and introduced herself.🙂 At fourteen, I had just moved to Reisterstown from Pikesville — where there were sidewalks EVERYWHERE and a deli on just about every corner. I left my friends and was a stranger in a strange land — until the day Linda knocked on the door; I had a friend instantly. 👭
Linda introduced me to folks 'round the 'hood 🏡 and even fixed me up on a double date 🚘 with her and hers (it was a disaster; guy might have said two words to me — hi and bye ). It was with Linda's guidance that I began to navigate the rock-strewn path of my teen years in Reisterstown. Ahhh Linda … your gifts were many my friend.
And I certainly can't discount her mind — oh noooo! That girl was SMART! 🤯 She was a dreamer, but a planner with a keen sense of the prevailing social mores and values; she wanted to make it BIG and she did, she really did ... she had three beautiful children that she made sure had the BEST, she maintained her beautiful home and managed to volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels, and numerous other community projects to assist the disenfranchised, she went to college, she was a kick-ass Production Assistant at MPT, Channel 67 TV. As a matter of fact, she ushered many of her family members and friends into jobs at MPT — she never forgot her family or friends.
And Linda, I will not forget you and your big ole heart. 💖 My friend through time, thank you; I could not BE me without BEing with you. I'm going to eat a cheesesteak 🌯 in your honor, like the ones we shared so many times together at Twin Kiss ... and I'll laugh, just like we used to so long ago. Linda, my friend, rest well, I shall ‘see’ you again soon enough. 🕊
