Linda's obituary

Linda Bodder, 76, of Jesup, Georgia, formerly Woodbine, Georgia, left this Earthly world to join her beloved Savior on February 01,2023 after a short battle with cancer.

  • Linda was born on July 8th,1946 to the late George W. Merritt and the former Marion D. Smith in New London, Connecticut. She attended schools in both New London and Waterford, Connecticut. In 1966, she met the late Perry L. McPheeters, and they wed in 1968, going on to have one child, a daughter, Melissa A. McPheeters Welch. Linda dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother.
  •  In 1975 she met the love of her life, David M. Bodder, marrying June 5th, 1976. The couple grew their family adding a son, David S. Bodder in 1977 and a daughter, Candise Bodder Ott in 1979. 
  •  Linda was passionate in her love for the Lord, sharing the gospel with anyone who would listen. Linda loved people, having never met a stranger. She loved her family, crafting, flowers, music, and all things Christmas. She was well liked and will be greatly missed by friends and family alike.
 Linda was predeceased by her parents; George W. Merritt and the former Marion D. Smith, three sisters; Marion L. Young, Martha "Peggy" Caivano, and Mildred "Mickey" Reed, her first husband, Perry L. McPheeters, and brothers in law; Milton Kelly, Rocco Caivano, Earl Wilson, and Edmund Reed Sr. She is survived by husband David M. Bodder [Jesup, Georgia], sister Beverly M. Wilson [Mystic, Connecticut] daughter Melissa McPheeters Welch [Woodbine, Georgia], son David S. and wife Lori Bodder [Odum, Georgia], daughter Candise and husband Sean Ott [Wilsonville, Alabama]. Survivors also include 11 granddaughters; Gracie Simmonds [ Los Angelos, California], Ashley Welch [Orlando, Florida], Eden Welch [Bolivar, Missouri], Adrianna Welch [ Rolla, Missouri], Mary Ott [Charleston, South Carolina], Marionna Welch [Kingsland, Georgia], Kadian Ott, Emily Ott, and Lauren Ott [Wilsonville, Alabama], and Emma and Hannah Bodder [Odum, Georgia]. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, grandson Levi Welch and granddaughter Lexi Baggett [ Newburg, Missouri] along with many well-loved nieces and nephews.
  •  The family will be holding a graveside service at Pinecrest Cemetary in Jesup, Georgia Monday, February 6th, 2023, at 2:00pm. 
  • There will be a celebration of life at Kingsland First Baptist Church in Kingsland, Georgia at 2:00pm., Saturday, February 11th,2023. All family and friends are invited to attend and share food and fellowship while reminiscing about all that was this blessed lady.
