So very sorry to hear of Linda's passing. I worked with her and had many laughs at Discount Records in Cambridge. Linda was quick witted smart and very energetic, maybe from all the jogging she did. I went along with Dennis MacDonald to her wedding in Maine and later on drove her into Manhattan at rush hour on a Friday ! At one point I hit something and knocked the passenger seat rear-view mirror off. I was freaking out over not being able to chain lanes easily. Linda wasn't much help because she was laughing so hard at my predicament. She will be missed by many.

Linda and I worked together in the mid-80s at Discount Records in Harvard Square, Cambridge Massachusetts. We became good friends, and she was very well liked by all staff. Also coming from Maine, I got a ride up with her and her sister, Liz, to Falmouth Foreside a couple times at Christmas. We took Linda out when she left Boston. I visited Linda in New York where she went out for morning runs every day I was there. I recall her telling me about her fellow Bowdoin alum, Joan Benoit, being her inspiration. My girlfriend Vicky Keirnan, Bowdoin class of ‘80, and I went to Linda’s wedding in Portland, and I brought another invited guest, Steve Harrell, who had been a co-worker of Linda’s at Discount Records. Linda had been an avid supporter of Steve’s Ska Boston band, 007, aka Dub 7. Linda was enthusiastic about the way she approached Life in general. Three of us from Discount Records went to see Gary Glitter at the now defunct Channel, a large capacity nightclub. After the show, Linda declared “that was the greatest show EVER!” She saw Glitter’s stretch limousine outside the waterfront club as we left and she ran to jump in the spacious back seat. Honestly, I had a heck of a time getting Linda out of the limo that night.

Linda transformed me into a lifelong fan Elton John’s music within 30 days of starting at FHS. She loomed large there! She used to grab me at FHS and make me walk triumphantly down the hall between classes with her. I was so fond of her. Hadn’t seen her in person since graduation but we kept up on FB as we shared similar political views. Love you honey!

Linda, my dear sister, You are my hero in so many ways. You pursued your passions, you lived life to its fullest. You knocked down barriers. You ran marathons and worked at Billboard. You showed me that women can do whatever they want, because that's exactly what you did. And you did it all with an amazing sense of humor and joy. You loved deeply, and you are deeply loved.
I remember visiting you in Boston, NYC, Miami, Stuart, FL, and California. We had so many fun times. No matter what was thrown at you you continued to laugh, love and cry.
You are at peace now.

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered “Come to Me” With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best - Anette

Linda … Stubbornness and Determination are Two sides of the Same Coin. About the former I know nothing except if her expedition to see Elton John. Later she made the music industry her job. Great when what you like is what you do. My personal fond memories of Linda are from Stuart when Anette and I visited. That was just her and I walking and talking as we took our many walks roundabout. Better Times then. best memories now - Ron

I am saddened to hear about the passing of Linda. I have fond memories of meeting her in Durban and what struck me was her will to live and fight on despite her disability. To think this was many years ago and she fought till now is testament to the person she was. A fighter... Sincere condolences to you Anette and Victor. Please send him my deepest sympathies. Big hug from me ❤️ - Gareth Ramsay
