Treasured Friendships

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of my wonderful sister-in-law, Linda.

I was fortunate to have met Linda 54 years ago. In fact, if it were not for Linda, I might still be waiting for Marty to propose! As we all know, Marty does NOT make decisions quickly. If it were not for Linda, incessantly asking Marty, “What are you waiting for? Marry the girl!” I might not have been married for these last 52 years. Our friendship was sealed that day!

Linda was a master at nurturing friendships. She was a loyal and faithful friend. Linda had friends all up and down the East Coast from Maryland to New Jersey. Linda’s friendship with Carol, TU, and Nancy (to name a few) lasted decades, from the time they were young women to today. These friendships lasted over 50 years, filled with love, laughter and 100s of phone calls!

Linda also had a special friendship with her amazing aides, Michelle, Jane and Kidist. These lovely ladies cared for her faithfully, right up to the very end.  Not only were these wonderful women her aides; they were also her friends --steadfast and dedicated.

Linda was special to so many people. Her friendships were legendary, filled with love and treasured by everyone who knew her and who were lucky enough to call themselves “FRIEND.”

Goodbye, Dear Friend.

Love,

Andrea

I Miss My Sister

I will miss Linda.

I will miss the memories we shared of our parents.

I will miss recalling the times we teased each other as kids.

I will miss getting a birthday card simply signed “I am the good one”

I will miss responding “I am the better one”

Most of all, I will miss having someone else with whom to hold and share these precious memories of so long ago

Shhhhh…I have a confession…

YOU were always “The Good One.

Love,

Marty

Linda was and extraordinary woman whose obituary points out her kindness and love. Our relationship was close and deep. More than 50 years ago, when my first husband lay dying in a hospital far from home, Linda did not hesitate to accompany me. Late at night, without fanfare, she volunteered to make the long drive, simply so I would not be alone. Her act of presence, so generous, so special, has never left me. Linda had a way of stepping forward when it mattered most, offering strength without needing recognition. Remembering her brings gratitude as much as sorrow. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends to know how profoundly she touched the lives of so many. May her memory be a blessing.

I am so sorry to the family of Linda. I will miss her laughter and her bright smile. We played many a bridge game over the years, and she will truly be missed. You made a grand slam, my friend!
